From Denver to Carbondale (or Glenwood Springs)

Timing: from the Denver Airport to Denver is 30-45 minutes; from Denver to Glenwood Springs is a little over 3 hours; from Glenwood Springs to Carbondale is another 20 minutes.  

1. Get on I-70 WEST.
2. Continue on I-70 for about three hours.  (It is 169 miles if you are coming from the airport; it is 145 miles if you are counting from the intersection of 6^th and I-70).
3. Exit #116 (Glenwood Springs).  Turn right at the end of the ramp (North River Drive).
4. This street will bear right immediately, turning into 6^th
1. If you are going to the Hotel Colorado, then after 0.1 miles, turn left onto Pine Street.  Hotel Colorado is the majestic building on the right.  For check-in: It is actually easiest to park on the south side of hotel (left side along 6^th).
5. After 0.1 miles, turn right onto Grand Ave.  This turns into S. Glen Ave and then US-82.  The highway continues south and then curves to the east.
6. After 12 miles, turn right on CO-133.
7. After 0.2 miles, the Thunder River Lodge is on the right, and the Comfort Inn and Suites is a half mile on the left.
