Save the Date!

Jay and Rachele are getting married on August 27th, 2005 in Carbondale, Colorado!  The invitation will follow, but here is some preliminary planning information, in hopes that you will be able to join us for this celebration.

Where is Carbondale?

Carbondale is in western Colorado.  The closest large town is historic Glenwood Springs.  Carbondale is three and a half hours from Denver.

How do I get to Carbondale?

You can fly into one of three airports (we recommend you fly to Denver and then drive, but that is up to you!).

Carbondale is:

- three and a half hours from Denver’s airport, or

- an hour from Vail's Eagle Airport, or

- 45 minutes from Aspen

Detailed maps will be available on our wedding website, www.racheleharless.com

Where do I stay in Carbondale?

We have room blocks at three places.  Mention the “Gorsegner-Harless Wedding” to get discounts.  You must book by mid-July to get these discounts.

When should I arrive and depart Carbondale?  What is the schedule?

In general, you should try to fly into Denver on Friday, and then drive to Carbondale on Friday evening or Saturday morning.  Out-of-towners who are not used to high altitude, should spend a night acclimating in Denver (elev 5280’), before moving on up to Carbondale (elev 6190’).

Here is the schedule of events:

Wednesday 8/24, Denver, 6:30p @ The Seasoned Chef cooking school

Private cooking class with Chef Jamey Fader, from Lola, named 5280 Magazine’s Chef of the Year (2004)

This event is intended for Denver friends who enjoy food, as well as out-of-town guests who can arrive in Colorado by this day.  Cost to attend is $45/person.  Class size is limited to 35 students.

We are having this demonstration cooking class in lieu of a formal wedding shower.  We took a Chef Fader class before, and it is impossible to overstate how much fun we had.  Among the dishes taught in this class will be Lola’s famous guacamole!

Friday 8/26, Carbondale, 5:45p @ Six89 Restaurant

Rehearsal Dinner

We are having our rehearsal dinner at our favorite restaurant in Carbondalesix89.  This event is for the wedding party and family.

Saturday 8/27, Carbondale, 4:00p @ Flying Dog Ranch

Wedding and Reception

The wedding will be hosted by a pond in a flower garden, and the reception will be in the barn next to the gardens.

Sunday 8/28, Glenwood Springs, 9:00a @ The Hotel Colorado

Bon Voyage Brunch

We are having a good-bye brunch before setting off for the airport and eventually Europe.  This event is for the wedding party and family.

What is there to do in Carbondale, or nearby Glenwood Springs?

Considering staying an extra day or two to experience some of the many activities in the area:

It should be fairly easy to find information for any of these activities online, but if you need help, try the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce or the Glenwood Springs Chamber of Commerce, or, give us a call.
